4) Way of deliverance

A) Obedience

To obey is better than sacrifice. There is no sacrifice that we can make that will result in such benefit to ourselves and others than to be obedient. The more obedient we are the more freedom from satan and sin we will have. JOHN 8:36 "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. It is in freedom that we live and minister. A person who is free can lead another into the life of freedom. We can=t bring deliverance to anyone when we are totally bound up. Obedience builds a wall of protection around us which satan will find difficult to break.

Sowing and reaping are the principles that regulate our freedom in obedience. If we do things that we know are not right than we are sewing bad seed which will produce bad effects. We never just receive the same amount of bad in return for the bad we do. The principle of harvest indicates that one seed produces a plant that bears many seeds. So it is when we do good, we can expect it to produce more good.

So how does this prevent us from being possessed? If we get ourselves into a good cycle of sowing and reaping it adds a certain amount of protection against satan. That is because we are doing good which plants seeds that will produce good. Conversely if we are sowing bad seed not only are we giving satan ground to possess, but we are also setting up a cycle of bad that will become difficult to break (thus supporting satan=s position).

Many Christians are afraid of what being obedient will mean to their way of life. It is true that we will have to forfeit some of the things we may be doing, but in the long run it is all worth it. I cannot convince you of it=s worth, but I guarantee that whatever you forfeit will pale in comparison to what you gain. When God calls us to do something or not do something it is only for our best interests.

So we need to get into a cycle of doing good and being obedient. We will see that satan will have much less control over our life. Just as planting a corn seed does not produce several ears overnight, it take months before they are ready for harvest. We must be diligent in doing good and being obedient, realizing that it may take months before we see any benefit from what we are doing today. AGAL 6:9 And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.@
