Steps to take in order to be healed

1) What does scripture say about healing?

Every lawyer knows that the more they know about the law the better lawyer they are. A lawyer who only has a brief and vague understanding about some issue of law will be decimated by his opponent. A well equipped lawyer knowing individual cases and their ruling, able to spout off page, chapter, verse, as well as accurately quoting the statute, is far more likely to win his case.

There is no difference with Christians and the word of God. Every time we stand for a healing whether it be for ourselves or someone else we are actually entering the high courts of heaven and declaring what the word of God says. God's word declares us forgiven, justified, purified, and without guilt. Jesus not only died that we may be saved from sin but bore stripes that we may be healed.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren and therefore the prosecutor of the case. He is able to quote scripture accurately and able to deceive even the most discerning. He tried to deceive Jesus while in the wilderness but failed miserably because obedience to what he quotes would have resulted in the denial of God. This is why it is so important that we know the scriptures. We need to be able to recognize satan's lies as well as all that Jesus accomplished on our behalf.

Taking time to get an understanding about what the bible says about divine healing is not a waste of time. We may get it directly from scripture or through other people's understanding about what the scriptures say. Many may find a need to hear what others say and yet develop an individual belief. Which ever the case we must come to a conclusion of what God's will is.

2) What do I believe about healing?

Until we have an individual understanding of God's will, we will be pushed around by every wind of doctrine concerning healing. In the beginning we must not rely upon our own experience and those of others. If our experience and that of other Christians are in agreement with the natural outcome of all men in similar situations, then we have yet to understand and see the will of God. We are not to live our lives as mere men but as spiritual men representing the living God.

What is meant by living as mere men? If we fear losing our jobs, getting sick, being killed, being evicted or any other worldly concern then we are not living in God's kingdom but the worlds. When our lives resemble that of an unsaved man (someone who is not born again) then we are living in a realm that God does not intend for His children. MAT 6:25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? MAT 6:30 "But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith? 6:31 "Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?' 6:32 "For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. If we are seeking God and His kingdom then we will be understanding the supernatural abilities of this kingdom. We will no longer rest our faith on the carnal but on the spiritual. As we understand that God's kingdom is spiritual we will begin to understand the principles that govern this spiritual kingdom. What if I don't know God spiritually? Then you need to receive the gift of salvation and start seeking God and His kingdom.
